A Ride in the Buggy

This photo was among my grandmothers treasured photographs. It was until years later after her death that I learned more about the people in the photograph. Right to left Harry Martin was her aunt "Fanny" husband, and Gladys, Gail, Elsie Wolfe in the buggy are the children of Joseph and Mary Emma Wolfe. It was amazing to see my grandmother as a young girl dressed so fine. It made me wonder where they were going when the picture was taken.

School Days

This photo was simply labeled Marion No 3 1904 scanned by Peggy Farquhar. She pointed out that Frank C Farquhar is in the top right hand corner of the photo holding a walking stick.

Horace Farquhar violin workshop

Horace's artist flare could be seen in the his photography. One day he must have noticed that even his work own bench made an interesting photograph subject. And here's the proof, this photo that was found among his collection.

The violins later found there way to the Farquhar family home, where they were kept and cherished. It's hard to know just how many violins Horace made or how his talent effected the lives of the folks in the small community where he lived. A special thanks to Peggy Farquhar who scanned and shared it and made it available.
